When smoke or fire is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound, and a red LED will indicate that the detector is sensing smoke or fire.

The test-hush button allows users to test the battery operations and silence nuisance alarms that may occur from cooking or shower steam. The Kidde Smoke Detector will chirp when it's time to replace the battery.
To help keep families safe from fire and poisonous gas, the manufacturer recommends installing a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector on every level of the home and near bedrooms. The Kidde Smoke Detector is UL Certified and comes with a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty. It meets the requirements of UL 217, NFPA72 (chapter 11 2002 edition), NFPA101 (One and two-family dwellings), and Federal Housing Authority (FHA).
The ionization sensor technology in the Kidde Smoke Detector is designed to sense invisible fire particles, while the electrochemical sensor detects CO gas. The test-hush button makes it easy for users to test the smoke detector and silence false alarms that may occur from cooking or shower steam. The device also has interconnection capability, allowing users to connect up to 18 Kidde smoke, heat, or CO alarms, with the possibility to interconnect 6 strobe lights or relay modules.
The Kidde Smoke Detector is UL Listed and comes with a 10-year limited warranty, which begins when the alarm is powered on. If the date of installation is unknown, it should be assumed that the alarm should be replaced.
