Using photoelectric sensor technology, the Kidde smart hardwired smoke alarm detects visible fire particles associated with smoldering fires, alerting you with an 85-decibel alarm and a voice announcement of "Fire! Fire!". The alarm connects to your home's 120V AC power and features a lithium battery backup that lasts the full 10-year life of the device, eliminating the need to replace the battery.
Real-time notifications through the Kidde app allow your family, friends, and even the pet sitter to monitor your home's air quality and receive alerts for smoke presence, high humidity levels, and Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs). Setup is straightforward – simply download the app and scan the QR code on the back of the alarm.
You can also use voice commands to check the device's connection and status of carbon monoxide or air quality by pairing it with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and select iPhone and Android smart devices. The LED ring-light indicator communicates the unit's operational status, with red signaling a smoke or fire hazard, amber indicating an operating error, and green for normal operation.
The Test-Hush button allows you to silence temporary nuisance alarms, test the unit's proper functioning, and silence a low battery or end-of-life chirp (up to 24 hours at a time for a maximum of 7 days). The device is also capable of hardwired interconnection to other select Kidde alarms, ensuring whole-home activation when one alarm sounds.

As an industry first, this 2-in-1 device alerts you to both smoke and indoor air quality hazards, monitoring harmful chemicals like TVOCs from cleaning products and paint, as well as humidity levels.
The voice alarm announces the specific hazard type when detected, whether it's "Fire!" for smoke or fire, or "Replace Alarm" when the unit reaches the end of its lifespan. With its WiFi-enabled technology, the device can send notifications to your smartphone and those of your friends and family in the event of a smoke or air quality hazard in your home.
