The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, model KN-COPE-IC, is a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector that operates on a 120VAC power source with a 9V battery backup. This device is a photoelectric smoke detector and an electrochemical carbon monoxide detector, providing highly accurate CO sensing technology.
Designed for convenient installation, the Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector features a front-load battery door, allowing for easy replacement of the 9V backup battery without the need to remove the unit from the ceiling. This smoke and carbon monoxide detector combo is hardwired, ensuring a reliable power source, and can interconnect with up to 24 other devices, including smoke, carbon monoxide, and heat alarms.
When the detector senses danger, it will sound a loud 85dB alarm and announce "Fire!" or "Warning: Carbon Monoxide" through its voice alert system. In the event of a low backup battery, the alarm will emit a chirp followed by the voice warning "Low Battery." The Smart Hush™ feature provides a temporary silencing of the fire alarm for approximately 8 minutes, addressing potential nuisance alarms.
To ensure comprehensive home safety, Kidde recommends installing a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector on each level of your home and inside and outside each bedroom or sleeping area. The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector is UL Certified and comes with a 10-year limited warranty, meeting the requirements of UL 2034, UL217, NFPA72, The State of California Fire Marshal, NFPA 101, FHA, and HUD.
