The Kidde smoke alarm is equipped with an end-of-life notifications that will beep to remind you it's time to replace it at the end of its 10-year lifespan, meeting the requirements of the 9th Edition UL 217, FCC, and CSFM. This modern 5-inch design is ideal for all living spaces such as living rooms, hallways, kitchens, and bedrooms, and it features a loud 85-decibel alarm that sounds when smoke is detected, with 3 long beeps and a red LED light flashing in time, repeating.
The never-change 10-year battery eliminates the need for low battery chirps or battery changes, saving up to $40 over the life of the detector (not a battery performance claim). The self-testing alarm ensures the internal components are always operating as expected, though a manual push test should be performed once per week to verify alarm operation.
Three LED notifications indicate the alarm's status, with green for normal operation, amber for operating error, and red for smoke detected. The test and hush button makes it easy to test the 5-inch smoke detector and silence false alarms, should they occur.
