Comprehensively tested and engineered to the latest UL standard for safety and reliability, the 5-inch smoke alarm is powered by 2 replaceable AA alkaline batteries, included, ensuring continuous detection even during power outages. Batteries should be replaced every 6 months or when the alarm emits a low battery chirp. The self-testing feature and easy twist-and-click installation with the provided mounting bracket make this Kidde smoke alarm simple to maintain and set up.
This alarm is equipped with end-of-life notifications, alerting you when it's time to replace the unit at the end of its 10-year lifespan. Meeting the requirements of the 9th Edition UL 217 and FCC standards, the smoke detector does not, however, meet the requirements for CSFM.
When smoke is detected, the alarm sounds a loud 85-decibel siren, accompanied by a red LED light flashing in sync, repeating 3 long beeps to alert your family. The enhanced sensing technology helps reduce false alarms that are often caused by cooking.
Featuring 3 LED notification lights, the alarm clearly displays its status: green for normal operation, amber for operating errors, and red for smoke detection. The test and hush button make it easy to verify the alarm's functionality and silence false alarms if they occur.
Powered by 2 AA alkaline batteries, this smoke detector requires no wiring, allowing for easy installation. Simply mount the included bracket onto the ceiling and twist and click the 5-inch alarm into place.
Backed by a 10-year limited warranty, this Kidde smoke alarm is designed to provide reliable fire safety for your home. The warranty begins when the alarm is powered on, and if the activation date is unknown, it's recommended to replace the alarm.
