The Kidde Smoke Detector, model i12060A, is an AC/DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source. Equipped with a 9V battery backup, this hardwired smoke alarm provides protection in the event of a power failure. Utilizing ionization sensing technology, the smoke detector is designed to detect invisible fire particles associated with flaming fires sooner than photoelectric alarms. Kidde strongly recommends installing both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms to ensure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home.
Designed for easy installation, the Kidde smoke detector features a pre-stripped wiring harness with an easy-off cap. The front-load battery door simplifies the replacement of the smoke alarm's backup battery without the need to remove the alarm from the mounting bracket. The smoke alarm's operation is indicated by red LEDs, which flash every 40 seconds in Standby Mode, signal Alarm Mode when the alarm senses products of combustion, display Alarm Memory to indicate the alarm has been activated, and activate Hush Mode to silence the alarm for approximately 7 minutes. A green LED indicates the presence of AC power.
The Kidde Hardwired Smoke Detector model i12060A is available in a two-pack, four-pack, and six-piece bulk pack, making it a versatile choice for contractors and property owners who need to install a fire detector on each level of their home and in their bedroom. This UL Certified smoke alarm comes with a 10-year limited warranty and meets the requirements of UL217, NFPA72, the State of California Fire Marshal, NFPA 101, FHA, and HUD.
With an 85-decibel alarm, the Kidde smoke detector effectively alerts occupants of a fire, providing whole-home family protection. The Test-Hush Feature allows users to silence the alarm for approximately 7 minutes, ensuring a more comfortable and responsive smoke detection system.
